Understanding Factors Affecting Body Mass and Lose Weight Diet Program

In the previous article has briefly described the core of the diet is to regulate the amount of nutrients / energy entering with the amount of nutrients / energy out. When we dream to lose weight, then we should try is to increase activity and reduce the amount of food or reduce the quality of nutrients consumed in the terms of energy.

Diet Factors

At this opportunity we will look at several factors that affect body mass. This factor will also affect the level of effectiveness of a diet to lose weight. Factors that influence can be divided into two factors, namely internal factor of the self and external factors.

  1. Internal Factors
    • Genetic factors
    • Thermal regulation
    • Metabolism
  2. Internal factors are factors that exist within each person. This factor can not be controlled or changed by a conscious human. Internal factors are divided into several things:

At least two types of genes according to research that can affect the body mass that is INSIG2 and FTO. These genes can causeoccurrence of obesity in people. We will not discuss further about the factors of this gene because of its nature which can not be changed.

To maintain body temperature, moving the organ-respiratory organs, digestion and so the energy required for such matters. Energy comes from the food consumed. Energy needed by humans to simply live in a state of rest and without doing any activity is called Basic metabolite Rate (BMR). BMR is very dependent on gender, age and even ethnicity. To count them to use the Harris Benedict Formula which can be used with BMR Calculator.

In the diet, fat metabolism is the most decisive. Metabolism is the process of formation of substances needed by the body to perform its functions. Metabolism is dependent on muscle mass, the greater the muscle mass the greater the energy used for metabolism.

  3. External Factors

External factors can be controlled entirely by humans. There are at least two external factors that can affect body mass. Namely physical activity and intake of nutrients. With more and more physical activity then the energy released will be even greater and make the mass of the body will be smaller.

Physical activity also can increase muscle mass so it will affect the energy used for metabolism in the body. A balanced intake of nutrients and in accordance with the energy required to make the amount of energy that comes out at least equal to the incoming energy. So there is no accumulation of energy that is stored in the body as fat. We will discuss what physical activity is effective and much needed energy to improve the diet to reduce body mass in a later article. A healthy intake of nutrients will also be discussed in next article.
